The RSASA is claimed to be Australia's oldest art society, being formed in 1856, and is currently housed on Adelaide's North Terrace. They hold many exhibitions throughout the year, in particular the seasonal shows for its members. These exhibitions are juried and all paintings are judged by a panel of full members before being admitted for exhibitions.
